Hook's NFL Picks
Hookscenter’s free NFL picks for week 13 against the spread. There is not a hotter NFL handicapper in the world than Hookscenter over the past six weeks. HC has rattled of a 54-20 record over that span for a winning percentage of just under 73%.
HC and his friends have made so much extra doe that they have decided to get a team together and fly out to Las Vegas for the 2009 USBC Open Championships.
The entire trip is paid for courtesy of my free picks.
I will be releasing my 3-team parlay for tomorrow Thanksgiving Day games. I guarantee this parlay will hit and make a lot of people who wager on the picks, very happy.
Do not turn to any other phony website and pay top $$$$, when Hookscenter gives you the picks for free.
2008 Turkey Day Lock of the Year #1: Dallas (-12) vs Seattle.
2008 Turkey Day Lock of the Year #2: Philadelphia (-3) vs Arizona.
2008 Turkey Day Lock of the Year #3: Detroit (+11.5) vs Tennessee.
Hookscenter looks to continue his winning ways today as he collected two wins on Turkey Day. The three-game sweep was my fault, but I expected that the Lions would play a great game on Turkey Day, and possibly upset the Titans. Instead the Lions played like a team that will end up 0-16 this season.
5 Star Pick of the Week: Buffalo (-6.5) vs San Francisco.
4 Star Picks of the Week: Green Bay (-3) vs Carolina, Atlanta (+5) @ San Diego, and New England (-1) vs Pittsburgh.
Rest of the Week: Denver (+8) @ NY Jets, St. Louis (+7.5) vs Miami, NY Giants (-4) @ Washington, Tampa Bay (-4) vs New Orleans, Cleveland (+5.5) vs Indianapolis, Baltimore (-7) @ Cincinnati, Oakland (-3) vs Kansas City, Minnesota (-3.5) vs Chicago, and Jacksonville (+3) @ Houston.

Broncos crush Jets, end New York’s winning streak at five games.Jay Cutler and the Denver Broncos stopped the surging New York Jets, and showed they might also be a team to reckon with in the wide-open AFC. Cutler passed for 357 yards and two touchdowns and rookie Peyton Hillis ran for 129 yards and a score in the Broncos’ 34-17 victory over the Jets at a wet and windy Meadowlands on Sunday. The Broncos (7-5) washed away the sting of a 31-10 loss to Oakland at home last weekend by stopping the Jets’ five-game winning streak. Denver leads the AFC... Read more »
Plaxico Burress to face criminal charges of possession of a weapon.Plaxico Burress plans to turn himself in to police Monday morning in New York City and plead not guilty to criminal possession of a weapon, his lawyer said. Benjamin Brafman wrote in an e-mail to the Associated Press on Sunday that he was advised the New York Giants’ star receiver will be charged after accidentally shooting himself in the right thigh. “I do not expect that Mr. Burress will make a statement,” Brafman wrote. He met with Burress for about an hour Sunday at the player’s... Read more »

Brewers consider four players for salary arbitration for 2009 season.Brewers officials spent part of Thanksgiving week debating whether to offer arbitration to their compensation-eligible free agents, a sometimes complicated decision with immediate and long-term implications. Four of the team’s free agents are up for debate, and all are pitchers: Eric Gagne, CC Sabathia, Ben Sheets and Brian Shouse. The Brewers have until 10:59 p.m. CT on Monday to decide whether to offer arbitration, a move which could net compensatory Draft picks if any of those players sign... Read more »

Swindle to a Major League contract for 2009. Swindle, 25, was a 14th-round Draft pick of the Red Sox in 2004 and debuted in the Major Leagues briefly last season with the Phillies, making three appearances in July for the World Series champions. He was charged with four earned runs in 4 2/3 innings. The Brewers were more impressed with Swindle’s Minor League numbers over the past four... Read more »

Oklahoma is headed to 2008 Big 12 title game instead of Texas.A week before the final standings are released and the Bowl Championship Series is already ticking people off. Oklahoma — not Texas — is headed to the Big 12 Championship Game with an inside track to the national title game by finishing ahead of the Longhorns in the BCS standings. Texas’ victory against the Sooners in October wasn’t enough to give the Longhorns the advantage in a three-way tie between Oklahoma, Texas and Texas Tech atop the Big 12 South. And that’s sure... Matt Kenseth sign multiyear extension with Roush Fenway Racing.Matt Kenseth signed a multiyear contract extension Thursday with Roush Fenway Racing to continue driving the No. 17 Ford. The deal comes at the end of one of Kenseth’s most disappointing seasons: He failed to win a race for the first time since 2001, and his 11th-place finish in the standings was his lowest since that season. But the 2003 series champion has been with Roush since 1998, winning 16 Sprint Cup races and 24 Nationwide Series races. His championship was the first for owner Jack... Read more »
Hendrick Motorsports says Mark Martin is valuable part of team.Alan Gustafson figures there is at least one way to legally circumvent NASCAR’s 2009 testing ban, at least partially. No, the crew chief for the Hendrick Motorsports No. 5 Chevrolet isn’t talking about private tests at non-NASCAR-sanctioned tracks. His not-so-secret weapon is longtime NASCAR star Mark Martin. Martin, who will turn 50 on Jan. 9, will replace Casey Mears in the fourth Hendrick entry in 2009, joining three-time reigning Sprint Cup champion Jimmie Johnson, four-time title... Read more »

Sixers get crushed by Bulls, 103-92, to drop to 7-10 with Brand.Derrick Rose seems unfazed by the rigorous NBA schedule. In the final stop on a seven-game, 12-day road trip which began Nov. 18 in Los Angeles against the Lakers, the 20-year-old No. 1 overall pick in the draft still had plenty of energy. Ben Gordon scored 21 points, Drew Gooden had 20 points and 12 rebounds, and the Chicago Bulls rallied from an early deficit for a 103-92 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday. Rose contributed 18 points and 10 assists and reached double figures in assists... Read more »
Flyers’ doubled up in Toronto, 4-2, by the Maple Leafs.Whatever message new general manager Brian Burke gave to the Toronto Maple Leafs, it surely got through. One of Burke’s first acts as team president and GM was to address the players before Saturday night’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers. The theme of his message was that everyone should relax. The Maple Leafs did and responded with one of their strongest efforts of the season, topping the Flyers 4-2. Vesa Toskala made 28 saves, and Dominic Moore and Nik Antropov each had a goal...
